This series kinda reminds me of the anime Hunter x Hunter with the friends progressively getting more and more powerful. After that point I was hooked and listened to the other 6 books over the course of 8 days. This book is kinda slow in the beginning and you will probably hate most every character, because they are trash human beings, but around the fourth of the way through the book things turn out not what they seem to be.
